SUMMARY:Live CLE Webinar: Comparing Perception Response Time to Average Drivers in Automobile Crashes
DESCRIPTION:Webinar Sponsored by:  \n \nFree for ADLA Members \n11:30 am – 12:30 pm Central Time \nIf you use Outlook Calendar\, please double-check that the event is saved in Central Standard Time (CST) to avoid any scheduling confusion. \nBrief Course Description:\n \nThis CLE course is designed to teach attorneys about perception response time issues that may arise in their cases. \nAttorneys have expressed interest in understanding whether or not an involved party was attentive and responsive to a hazard. Often times we do not have the information to know precisely when a party first recognizes a hazard. With basic information and a proper crash reconstruction\, we can compare what actions a person took\, and the timing of those actions\, to the actions that an average driver would have taken when presented with similar circumstances. This is helpful to understand whether the response was appropriate and timely. \nSpeaker: Jodi Immell BSME\, ACTAR\, Senior Engineer\, Quality Forensic Engineering\, LLC \nMs. Immell has over 25 years of experience in the accident reconstruction field. She has investigated\nthousands of cases\, and her specialties include in-depth analysis across a wide variety of collision types. She can quickly assess most collisions with basic information to provide consultations. Ms. Immell works with clients nationwide\, and she can help clients understand the crash\, provide technical analysis\, written reports\, testimony and visual exhibits to convey key aspects to attorneys\, experts and juries. She has provided deposition and trial testimony in federal and state courts across the United States. Ms. Immell is experienced in large interstate “pileups\,” tractor-trailer collisions\, bus collisions\, police involved collisions\, low and high severity collisions\, motorcycle collisions\, bicycle collisions\, pedestrian collisions\, nighttime visibility\, perception response time\, and more. She understands the 30\,000-foot view and can dig into the evidence across many sources to provide answers to important questions.\n \nThis course or a portion thereof has been approved by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission of Alabama for a maximum of 1 hours’ credit.
