Overview: This is a one-hour class taking a more in depth look at Slip, Trip, Stumble and Fall incidents involving personal injury. It is intended for an audience that already has a basic understanding of slip, trip, and fall incidents. This class is given from the perspective of an engineer and accident reconstructionist with more than 22 years of experience in the field. This class will cover the role of an engineer in analyzing these kinds of incidents, data gathering and analysis, research of applicable statutes, codes, standards, and guidelines including OSHA, ANSI, and ASTM, and forming conclusions. This class also includes demonstrations of data gathering techniques and equipment including the English XL Variable Incident Tribometer (instrument to measure the slip index of surfaces). Discussions will be held throughout the class regarding how to address these issues from the opposing side. This course will provide both experienced and new attorneys with valuable information they can immediately use in their practices.

This course or a portion thereof has been approved by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission of Alabama for a maximum of 1 hours’ credit.
