Overview: What makes a good expert opinion, and how do the courts keep up with the latest in cutting edge science? Through an evaluation of biomechanics and physics methodologies, this one-hour session aims to explore the biomechanics field as it applies to motor vehicle accidents and discusses the role of legal processes to ensure the science that makes its way to the jury is reliable and generally accepted by those most well acquainted with the field. This course is focused toward attorneys and the topics cover basic accident reconstruction and biomechanics principles along with applications and an understanding the modern courtroom standard for scientific testimony.

This course or a portion thereof has been approved by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission of Alabama for a maximum of 1 hours’ credit.
